Starhawk
Starhawk is the author of The Fifth Sacred Thing and eleven other books, including the prequel, Walking to Mercury, her feminist spirituality classic The Spiral Dance: A Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the Great Goddess, and her latest, The Empowerment Manual: A Guide for Collaborative Groups. She has written, consulted and coproduced five feature documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada and her own company, Belili Productions. She directs Earth Activist Trainings, which offers training in permaculture and ecological design with a grounding in spirit and a focus on organizing for activists and inner city youth. She is currently at work on a sequel and working to bring her novel to the screen.
Philip ‘Mouse’ Wood
Philip ‘Mouse’ Wood is a lifetime creative; record producer, engineer, producer, and DJ since 1985 and video editor / filmmaker since 1999. He was a founding member of Advanced MultiMedia Operatives (AMMO), San Francisco’s hottest underground video collective. His most recent narrative feature film, Ray Wang’s Carma, (2006) won Best Picture at the Bare Bones and Pathways Film Festivals and was a showcase selection at the California Independent Film Festival and Cinequest. His current feature-length documentary, Electronic Awakening, is now screening in dozens of cities around the US. Philip is currently the owner of Yerba Buena Films, and is producing the feature length adaptation of Starhawk’s epic post-apocalyptic action adventure novel The Fifth Sacred Thing.
Paradox Pollack
Paradox Pollack is an actor, producer, and movement director. He has worked directly with some of the biggest names in film including actors Robin Williams, Will Smith, Rene Russo, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Hiddleston; directors JJ Abrams and Kenneth Branagh, as well as legendary stunt coordinator and second-unit director Vic Armstrong. His films include What Dreams May Come, I Am Legend, Star Trek (2009), and Thor. Pollack began his theatrical work in circus, and enjoyed a successful career that spanned over 20 years. His extensive background in the performing arts created the foundation for his work as a fight choreographer and movement director for feature films. Pollack has taken on the role of producer and movement director, joining the team that is developing Starhawk’s beloved novel, The Fifth Sacred Thing, into a major motion picture. He is deeply committed to this particular story because it perfectly addresses the political, cultural, and spiritual issues we face in our rapidly changing world.
